Colin’s surgery on Monday went swimmingly, a marvel of coordination between the general surgery and neurosurgery teams.

The weekend has been eventful in many ways, and Colin now hovers at the brink of the next step in his treatment, installation of the shunt and replacement mediport.

Life in the hospital always has an underlying tension, as the situation can change dramatically over the course of days or moments.

Today, Colin was even more alert and had a busy social calendar.

Today, Colin was definitely less sleepy although still quite congested and having a hard time keeping his oxygen saturation high enough.

Support Camp Sunshine: Freezin’ for a Reason Camp Sunshine is an incredible place for families with children with lifethreatening illnesses to find support. It costs $2,000 for a week of camp. Though much of the work is done by volunteers, they provide three meals a day for everybody and much much more.
Please help us keep the wheels turning so we can help make sure more families can experience this wonderful community. We are participating in the New Haven polar plunge on Saturday, February 25.
Visit our fundraising page to donate a few dollars to a great cause (four stars on Charity Navigator, the highest rating they give).
